What will you learn with Svasthyam for Women

Svasthyam for Women is specially designed to get you into the habit of regular practice taking you onto a journey of wellness

Svasthyam is a one-month program designed to empower the individual with tools, perspectives and insights towards Yoga being seen and practiced as a praxis of life that can help rejuvenate the individual into discovering their best.

The program draws from a wide variety of Indian traditions. Primarily anchored in Yoga, in the tradition of legendary Yogi Sri Krishnamacharya, it also includes elements from Natya Sastra (Indian dance/theatre tradition). And finally, it borrows from Ayurveda (Indian medicine), Kalari Payattu (Indian martial arts) and ancient Tamil poetry.

What you will learn

  • Quick-fix asana and pranayama practices to address back or neck pain, stress and sleep issues. All of these taught in a manner suitable to participants irrespective of their age.
  • Asana and Pranayama practice to be done regularly to improve overall health (including menstrual health), strength and flexibility. All of these are taught in a manner suitable to participants irrespective of their age.
  • Rediscovering your inner friend - to enable one to listen to their feelings carefully from the friend space
  • Ayurveda tips
  • To help cultivate a habit of regular practice

All content will be shared online with participants

Each session will typically involve

  • 30-40 minutes asana and pranayama practice (occasional use of techniques from kalari payattu)
  • 30 minutes of self-reflection - through theatre based activities, listening to each other in small and large group discussions, occasional use of poetry and music
  • 5 minutes of appropriate theory
